Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 May 2026

Expensator (the "app") is built with privacy as the default. This policy explains what data the app touches and what it doesn't.

What we collect

Nothing leaves your device. Expensator does not have a backend server. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on our servers (because there are no servers):

What stays on your device

Expense data is stored in a local SQLite database on your iPhone. Receipt images, when attached, are stored in the app's private file container. iOS isolates this from other apps. When you uninstall the app, iOS deletes everything.

Permissions

Sharing & export

When you export expenses as PDF or CSV, the file is generated on your device. If you choose to send it by email, the iOS mail composer opens with the file attached — we do not read the recipient or the contents. You decide who receives it.

Third-party services

The app does not embed analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any third-party tracking SDK.

If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple. Apple may collect data about the purchase per Apple's privacy policy; we receive only the anonymized status of your subscription from Apple's StoreKit.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If we ever change this policy in a material way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and surface the change in the app.
