Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 May 2026

By installing or using Expensator (the "app") you agree to these terms.

The app

Expensator helps you record and review your personal and business expenses. It is provided as-is. We don't guarantee that it is error-free, that it fits any particular accounting or tax purpose, or that figures it shows are accurate enough to satisfy any legal or fiscal obligation. Use it as a tool, not as official accounting software.

Your data

You own everything you put into the app. Because the app stores data only on your device, you are responsible for backing it up (use the Export feature to email yourself a copy).

Acceptable use

Don't use the app for anything illegal, don't reverse-engineer it, and don't try to use it as a vector to attack other systems.

Subscriptions & payments

If the app offers paid features, payments are processed by Apple under their standard terms. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including loss of data, lost profits, or tax penalties. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any, in the past twelve months.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date and surfaced in the app where appropriate.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
